Local Derby

The Soap Box Derby is a youth racing program which has run nationally since 1934. World Championship finals are held each July at Derby Downs in Akron, Ohio.

What are the goals of the Soap Box Derby?

The goals of the Soap Box Derby program have not changed since it began in 1934: to promote families working together, to teach children some basic skills of workmanship along with the spirit of competition and the perseverance to continue a project to completion. Across the United States and around the world, family time is spent together building Soap Box Derby cars. Lifelong bonds are developed as the "Derby Experience" is shared from driver to driver, town to town, state to state. The Soap Box Derby is a program that will provide cherished memories that will be enjoy for a lifetime, by kids of all ages.

The 2013 Soap Box Derby of Culpeper

To Register for the 2013 Soap Box Derby of Culpeper, drivers must:

1. Fill out Official All-American Soap Box Derby Registration Form (from the AASBD)

2. Fill out 2013 Culpeper Local Registration Form

3. Attach a Valid Copy of driver’s Birth Certificate

4. $40 Registration fee per driver, deadline May 4th (fee is waived for drivers of newly purchased cars)

Both registration forms are available at every Driver’s Clinic, and also in the column to the right.

ALL 4 items MUST be turned in TOGETHER.

Driver must register for the Local Derby nearest their place of residence

Ages for each division

• Stock 8-13 years old
• Super Stock 10-17 years old
• Masters 10-17 years old

ALL DRIVERS MUST Register before end of day on
Friday, May 3rd
